Join us this summer! We have a challenging programme for families:

EVERY DAY

Swabbing the deck
There are always jobs for little sailors to do in the harbour. Grab a mop and help scrub and clean the deck of our grain elevator.

Scavenger hunt

Did you know that there are animals and letters hidden around the museum harbour? Can you find them all? There is a scavenger hunt for the very youngest and another for children who can already read.

Maritime Museum App

The Maritime Museum App (in English) is a digital experience, full of video, animations and digital souvenirs. Including an audiotour of the museum and the harbour. Download it for free in the App Store od Google Play Store.

Maritime Museum Harbour

Experience how the Port of Rotterdam began at this very spot on board our ships and cranes. Your museumticket gives you free acces to the ships, welcome aboard!

EVERY MONDAY

Tall Tales (dutch spoken)

Mermaids and giant octopuses are real. Is the family tour guide telling you nonsense or is it true?

Locomotive

Take a quick trip on our shunting locomotive. Can you guess why it’s called a sik (which means a goat)? It’s because the whistle sounds like an animal bleating!

EVERY TUESDAY

Up and Over

The 'up and over' was used at the port’s training centre for practising hoisting. Now it's your turn!

Guided Tour (dutch spoken)

If you love ships and cranes, join the tour through the Maritime Museum Harbour and hear everything there is to know about the Port of Rotterdam – then and now.
