The Maritime Museum is located in the bustling Maritime District of Rotterdam, near the Erasmus Bridge, the Market Hall and Hotel New York. In line with the current regulations of the Dutch government, we advise you to come with your own transport and to use public transport only, if there is no other option.
Traveling by bike or on foot?
The Maritime Museum is easily accessible on foot or by bicycle. Ideal if you live or stay in Rotterdam or surroundings! There is enough space to park your bicycle near the museum. The (free) bicycle parking 'Coolsingel' can be found across the street. Want to know more about cycling in and around Rotterdam? >
Traveling to the museum by car?
The museum does not have its own parking facilities, but paid parking is available in the immediate vicinity, along the Schiedamsedijk or in the parking garages in the center. We offer you a 20% discount on the nearby APCOA parking garage at Hartmansstraat 35 in Rotterdam. For this, you need the parking ticket, which you can get as soon as you enter the parking garage. Do not choose the option to pay directly with your bank card, then we can not offer a discount. Show your parking ticket on arrival at the Maritime Museum, in combination with your e-ticket, for a stamp on your parking ticket. This gives you a 20% discount at the checkout in the garage.
Preferably not by public transport
To limit the spread of the coronavirus, the Dutch government recommends using public transport only if there is really no alternative. The museum will soon be easily accessible again by tram, bus, metro, train, waterbus and taxi:
> Train - Rotterdam central and Rotterdam Blaak stations
> Tram - Line 8, 23 and 25 Beurs
> Bus - Line 32 Westblaak
> Metro - Beurs
> Waterbus - Willemsplein stop
> Watertaxi - Leuvehaven stop
